What is Animal Wordle?
Animal Wordle is a daily animal guessing game inspired by Wordle — but instead of spelling a five-letter word, you guess the mystery animal. Critterdle is our free animal Wordle: every day the whole world shares the same secret creature, and you get eight tries to guess the animal. Each guess scores five clues — type, habitat, diet, activity and size — so a wrong answer still narrows the field, just like the colour tiles in classic Wordle.

Reading the clue tiles
Every guess in this animal Wordle is scored across five categories. Learning what each tile is telling you is the whole skill of the game:
The animal class — mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian, fish or insect. A green Type tile is the single biggest shortcut in the whole guessing game.
Where it lives — forest, ocean, grassland, desert and more. Amber means you share at least one habitat, so "Forest +2" is a strong lead.
Carnivore, herbivore or omnivore. Diet pairs with type to rule out huge chunks of the pool in a single guess.
When it's awake — diurnal, nocturnal or crepuscular. A small but decisive clue once the bigger tiles have narrowed things down.
Roughly how big it is. When the tile isn't an exact match, an arrow tells you whether the mystery animal is bigger (↑) or smaller (↓).
Strategy: guess the animal in fewer tries
Open with a broad, common animal — something like a dog or a sparrow — to light up the Type and Diet tiles fast.
Chase the green tiles: once Type is correct, only guess animals of that same class to guess the animal in fewer tries.
Read the size arrows as a staircase. Each ↑ or ↓ halves the range, so you can zero in on the right animal quickly.
Treat amber like sonar. A close habitat or diet clue is pointing you at a neighbour of the answer, not a dead end.
